Ivan is an Australian trained Urologist and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Ivan has a subspecialty interest in robotic cancer surgery of the prostate and kidney, as well as endourology.
Ivan graduated from Monash University (Melbourne), and completed his urology training in various centres around Victoria; Monash, Peninsula and Northern Health, before completing his fellowship in urologic oncology at Austin Hospital.
Ivan is well published in international peer reviewed scientific journals. He was an invited speaker and won the award for best clinical research in the Asia-Pacific Prostate Society Meeting. His team’s research on active surveillance for prostate cancer was the earliest Australian series published, and this approach has now become a mainstay treatment for most prostate cancers.
He remains committed to academic excellence, and is regularly involved with the training of junior doctors and aspiring surgeons. He has conducted various educational workshops for hospital staff and general practitioners at Curtin University. Ivan is also the supervisor of international urology fellows at Royal Perth Hospital.
Ivan consults several times a week at his Midland rooms. He operates at St John of God Midland, Mount Lawley and Subiaco. Ivan also holds a public consultant position in Royal Perth Hospital.
